House passes concealed carry gun bill

by Cristina Marcos  |  Published on December 7, 2017

Two months after the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history, the House on Wednesday passed legislation that would allow people to use permits for carrying concealed handguns across state lines while also boosting the background check system.

Despite bipartisan support for enhancing background checks for gun purchases, the bill passed along party lines, 231-198, due to Democratic opposition to the concealed-carry reciprocity measure.

Six centrist Democrats voted with Republicans to approve the package: Reps. Sanford Bishop (Ga.), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), Ron Kind (Wis.), Collin Peterson (Minn.) and Kurt Schrader (Ore.).
Fourteen Republicans voted “no,” including a mix of conservatives and centrists.

So good, having liberation on this matter! Now we can shoot back, stop the hijacking of varying events, then calling the kidnapped forward to be shot and murdered on the spot! You have to combat evil, you have to object, you have to actually do something about it, like congress, senate, the judicial, the executive and all rich people have done, they hire their protection, bodyguards provided by you and me! Now when they call you forward to be shot and murdered, you shoot them, armed, not idle sheep!

Yes, reciprocity is CONVENIENT. But, parting ways with the Constitution simply to achieve convenience is perilous, shortsighted. (And,yes, I am an NRA and GOA member in good standing, but a patriot and originalist FIRST.)

I am for RECIPROCITY! If I lived in the Midwest I could get a CCP license that worked in almost 70% of the states! But living in Oregon it wouldn’t help much. Oregon doesn’t work with anyone. And the states around it are just as bad. Last time I took a trip I had to change where my gun was 5 times! From concealed, to open, to locked in my trunk and back and forth,
